Cora Avis Spivey Oct 1888 - 27 Mar 1970 Mrs. Luther L. Spivey WINDSOR - Mrs. Cora Avis Spivey, 81, died Friday morning a Newport News hospital, following a long ilness. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the widow of Luther. L. Spivey, and daughter of the late James E. Avis and Mrs. Polly S. Avis. She was a member if the Colossee Baptist Church and the adult Bible Class. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. R. L. Carr of Suffolk and Mrs. J. E. White of Windsor; two sons, Aubrey Spivey of Carrsville and Edward Spivey of Suffolk; a sister, Mrs. Ryland Lewis of Windsor; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, by the Rev. Joseph L. McTeer, pastor of Colossee Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Colossee Baptist Church cemetery, Isle of Wight County. The family will meet at the home of Mrs. J. E. White, Windsor.
