Born in Portsmouth and raised in Suffolk, he was a son of the late James and Katie Speight. Tommy was a graduate of John Yeates High School, Chowan College, and Campbell College and received his Master’s Degree from Southeastern Seminary. He pastored in many Baptist churches in Virginia and was currently the pastor at Green Lakes Baptist Church in Portsmouth. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Anne Bristow Speight; two sons, David Speight and his wife Jill and Steven Speight and his wife Kendall; a brother, Eddie Speight; and three grandchildren, Raven, Ayden, and Parker and a baby boy due in February. A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Friday, December 16, 2022 in Wright Funeral Home.
