CLINTON SPEIGHT. Elizabeth City - Clinton Speight, 49, died Thursday afternoon 5 o'clock in the Albemarle Hospital following a two weeks illness. He was a native of Winfall, Perquimans County and had been a resident of Elizabeth City for the last 18 years. Son of William Henry and Martha Boyce Speight, he was a member of the Baptist Church and a former employe of Hopkins Bros. Surviving his wife, Mrs. Johnie Benton Speight; seven daughters. Oliver Cartwright, Mrs. Clarence Ivey, both of New Hope, Wilma. Rosa Jenette. Mildred Fay, Betty Lou, Audrey June, all of Elizabeth City; four sons, Louis, William Edward, Arthur Wallace, and William Clinton Speight, all of Elizabeth City; three sisters, Harriett A. Speight.
