Roland Douglas Spady, 80, of Portsmouth, Va. passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. He is the son of the late Roland Lee and Jean Jordan Spady. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Dean Spady. 

Roland loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing cards and eating crabs. He will be missed by all who knew him. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Wilma Robinson Spady; daughters, Rhonda Chaffin (Todd) and Stacy Torrence (Shane); grandchildren, Cody Chaffin, Connor Chaffin (Christina), Ava Jordan "A. J. " Torrence, Carter Torrence, and Windsor Torrence; 4 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; brother, Bernard Spady (Judy); sister in law, Sue Spady; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. 

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at R. W. Baker & Co. North Suffolk Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Ln, Suffolk, Va. Family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Online condolences may be registered at www. RWBakerFH. com.
