She was a native of Bertie Co., NC, a daughter of the late Frank M. Morris and Emma Lee Tripp Morris and was predeceased by her daughter, Kathryn Smithwick and a brother, Milton Ray Morris. Mrs. Smithwick was retired from Southampton Memorial Hospital as the admissions supervisor after 32 years of service. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Jerry Allen Smithwick and his wife Darlene Harrell Smithwick of Franklin, one grandson, Ronnie Allen Smithwick and his wife Emilie and two great grandchildren, Payton and Kaylee Smithwick, one sister JoAnne M. Sharber of Kinston, NC and one sister-in-law, Pam Morris of Aulander, NC. The funeral will be held at 2 PM Monday, May 11, 2015 at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park.
