Maxine Smith Obituary Maxine Sonia Smith left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on March 21, 2024. She was born in Jamaica on August 31, 1954. Maxine was predeceased by her father Raphael Smith. Left to cherish her memories is her mother, Louise Smith, her siblings, Reshu Smith, Glen Smith, Emereth Smith, Devon Smith, Maureen Smith, Castoria Smith and Loreen Smith. She is also survived by her children Mark Thomson (Ford), Natalie Woolery, Omar Smith (Amber), and Jermaine Perkins, her grandsons, Orlando and Asa Smith, and a host of nieces and nephews. Maxine was a hard-working woman. She put herself through nursing school while raising her children and working. She loved being a nurse and helping people. Maxine was a God-fearing woman that loved the Lord with all her heart. She made sure everyone she met knew they were loved by God and made in His image. She instilled her love for God in her children and grandchildren. She would always remind them to pray and read their bible. Maxine will be missed by us all, but we have the peace and knowing she is now with Jesus walking on the streets of gold. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024 at 2:00 p. m. at Central Baptist Church located at 1200 Hodges Ferry Road in Portsmouth, Virginia.
