Edgar Simpson Obituary Edgar Abernathy Simpson, Jr. June 19, 1934 － April 21, 2024 Courtland － Edgar Abernathy Simpson, Jr., 89, passed away April 21, 2024 in his home with family by his side. Born in Milton, NC on June 19, 1934, he was a son of the late Edgar Abernathy Simpson, Sr. and Louise Ollis Simpson. He was also predeceased by a sister, Edna Lee Bryant, and two brothers, Warren and Bon Sorrells. Edgar was a veteran of the US Marines and the US Air Force with 22 years of service. He held a Doctorate Degree in Theology from Anderson Bible Institute and was a retired postman for the US Postal Service. Beyond his government service, Edgar had a passion for fishing that he often shared with his family and friends. Whether he was casting a line from the lake shore or out on the open ocean, the joy he found in fishing was contagious. Grandpa Ed or ‚ÄòPapa‚Äô made many fishing memories with his grandchildren.
