He was also predeceased by a son, Rodney Scott Simms; two sisters, Pearl Simms and Patricia Parker; and a brother, Randy Simms. Sidney was a member of Ivor United Methodist Church. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, Emily Babb Simms; a son, Lance Simms (Amy); two sisters, Judy Turner (Roland) and Luanne White (Johnny); two grandchildren, Brendan and Bryce Simms; a niece, Angie Mavredes (Michael); and three nephews, Travis Butler, David Turner, and Chris Turner. A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Monday, August 21, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Dillon officating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Courtland Youth Athletic Association, 24224 Storys Station Rd., Courtland, VA 23837.
