Marion Florence Moak

Moak, Mrs. Marion Florence Schiele, 88, passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, 4 December 2016. A former teacher in the Richmond Public Schools System, she had resided at the Lakewood Manor Retirement Community since 2007. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Thomas O. Moak Jr., and an infant son, Timothy Owen.  

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca J. Moak; son-in-law, David N. Richardson of Woodbridge, Virginia; her son, Ronald C. Moak; daughter-in-law, Linda Bowman Moak; her grandson, Brandon T. Moak; granddaughter-in-law, Amelia L. Bambam; and two great-grandsons, Sawyer and Asher, all of Beaverton, Oregon.  

After completing her Master of Education at Virginia Commonwealth University, she worked in special education at the middle and high school levels with Richmond City Schools.  

A joint Celebration of Life honoring Tom and Marion will be held at the Simms Center, Lakewood Manor, 1900 Lauderdale Drive, Richmond, Virginia later in 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable gifts to the Lakewood Manor Benevolent Fund or the Virginia Baptist Foundation.  

Arrangements are provided by the Cremation Society of Virginia and interment will be private.
