Richard Jarvis (Richie) Saunders 1 Sep 1866 - 13 Jun 1934 **Richard Saunders Dies At Newsom** Richard Saunders, aged 67, prominent Southampton farmer, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. B. F. Ellis, at Newsoms this morning at 3 o'clock. Although in declining health for approximately a year, Mr. Saunders was not critically ill until midweek when he was stricken and grew steadily worse. Surviving Mr. Saunders are five sons, Raymond K. and Percy C. Saunders, of Suffolk; Richard V. and Stanley H. Saunders of Norfolk; and Clarence A. Saunders of Nansemond county; and two daughters, Mrs. Thad Bryant of Sedley and Mrs. B. F. Ellis of Newsoms. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. The procession will leave the funeral parlors of W. J. M.
