Born in Henderson, NC, he was the son of the late William Bannister Royster and Beulah Jackson Royster. Bill was a graduate of Henderson High School and a former operations manager for S. W. Rawls. He retired from Abercrombie Oil Company in Danville after moving from Franklin to Martinsville where he and his wife lived for 37 years. He was a former member of the Franklin Lion’s Club, Franklin Jaycees, Franklin Little Theater, and Franklin Baptist Church where he sang in their choir for many years. He was an avid golfer. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rebecca Winstead Royster; a daughter, Tammy R. Bradshaw and her husband, Michael; a brother, Ralph Douglas Royster and his wife Barbara; and two grandchildren, Alexandra Paige Holt and Kristen Grace Holt. Memorial Services will be private. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
