Barnes, died quite suddenly Thursday morning, 3 January 1952, at 8 o'clock at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Capt. and Mrs. Robert Merchant, at their home in Richmond, Virginia. She had been in her usual health Wednesday, and her death came as a great shock to her family and wide circle of friends here. Mrs. Barnes had gone to her daughter's home in September for the winter. The body is being returned to the Miller Funeral Home in Monticello. No funeral arrangements have been made. The deceased was born on 17 January 1873, in Idaville, the daughter of James A. and Sarah (Robinson) Renwick. She was married to Charles E. Barnes on 27 December 1894, and he died on 18 March 1929.
