Mr. J. A. Redd died September 12, 1927, about 10:30 p.m., at his home near here. He had been in feeble health for some time but was not confined to his bed but a few days before his death. He was 58 years of age. The deceased leaves to mourn his loss an aged mother, a devoted wife and a loving sister and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral was held at Collosse Baptist Church on Tuesday [13 September 1927] afternoon. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World. Dr. Claude Duke, of Tampa, Fla. conducted the funeral services assisted by Rev. J. S. Cobb. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
