Raines, the widow of Ray Thomas Howell Sr., to whom she was married for 59 years, and sister of the late Alton L. Raines. A long time resident of Chuckatuck, Mrs. Howell was the first Den Mother to Pack 25 in Chuckatuck and a member of the Garden Club of Chuckatuck. She was a member of Oakland Christian Church and the Ladies Circle II. She was a former member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Chuckatuck Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include her children, Patricia H. Mays and husband, Ray, of Smithfield, Ray T. Howell Jr. and wife, Cheryl, of Poquoson; Richard R. Howell Sr. and wife, Martha, of Suffolk; grandchildren, Timothy R. Mays, Stephanie A. Mays, T. Carter Howell, Lynn Wynn, Amy Topping, Russell Watkins, J.D. Forrest, R.
