Charles Ernest Raiford Franklin, June 15. 

Charles Ernest Raiford, 68, native and lifelong resident of Ivor community, died at his home early Thursday morning after a short illness. He was a son of the late Everette and Caroline Johnson Raiford, of Ivor. He was of a member of Corinth Friends Church.     

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Tweedy May Crumpler Raiford; one daughter, Miss Evelyn Crumpler; one son, Stanley Raiford, both of Norfolk; three brothers, W. B. Jerry and George Raiford of Ivor and two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Mae White and Mrs. Delia Winslow, both of Belvedere, N. C.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the grave in the family cemetery near Ivor, conducted by the Rev. J. R. Stein.
