Priddy Obituary John Priddy, 88, of Richmond, VA died peacefully in Hospice Care. He was born in Roanoke, VA and graduated from Jefferson High School in Roanoke. He attended Hampden-Sydney College for 1 year, then joined the Marine Corp for the next 8 years. He was trained as an electronic engineer and was honored to serve with the North American Aerospace Defense Command known as NORAD. John served in Cuba during The Cuban Missile Crisis. After being discharged from the Marine Corp he joined the Bell Telephone System and retired from Verizon Telephone Company after 39 years. John was an avid reader and had an extensive library reflecting his varied interests. He supported The Richmond Ballet and Richmond Symphony. John leaves his wife of 55 years with Many happy memories. They had the thrill of flying on the Concord and took many cruises on The Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary, Queen Victoria and cruised through The Panama Canal, Hawaii and the Caribbean Islands. They enjoyed NYC, seeing Broadway Plays and Museums. In 1975 they saw The King Tut exhibit in Washington, DC. Many weekends were spent at Kennedy Center, attending ballet performances. During retirement, John had 2 dog friends, Shadow and Annie. John is survived by his wife, Anita; sister-in-law, Letitia Matter (Foster); nephews, Dr. Joe Lang (Melissa), Owen Matter, Will Matter (Kriss) and Milton Matter (Kendra); great niece, Izzy Matter; and great nephews, Henry and Forrest Matter.
