Mrs. Daisie Presson Jones, 76, 12 Quillen Terrace, Newport News, died Friday, 25 August 1967, in Riverside Hospital after a long illness.

The widow of James S. Jones Sr., she was a native of Isle of Wight County. She was a member of Indian River Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and attended Hilton Baptist Church. She moved to Newport News three years ago after living 20 years in Norfolk.

She is survived by three sons, Ben F. Jones of Newport News, Marion W. Jones of Virginia Beach, and Colbert C. Jones of Odessa, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Edna B. Mathis of Deerfield Beach, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. P. Gwaltney of Newport News and Mrs. George P. Presson of Hopewell; two brothers, Emerson T. Presson and Benjamin C. Presson of Windsor; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, 27 August 1967, in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield. The Rev. James B. Crocker, pastor of First View Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk.
