Kenneth Porter Obituary Kenneth G. Porter February 27, 1943 - July 6, 2024 KENNETH G. PORTER COURTLAND , Va. - Kenneth Gene Porter "Pop",81, passed away Saturday July 6, 2024 at his home with his family at his bedside. Kenny was born and reared in Newsoms and was a 1961 graduate of Southampton High School. Kenny was a US Army Veteran and did a tour of Duty in Korea. Kenny retired from Union Camp after 38 years , serving as a Roll Finishing Supervisor in Mill Planning. He was a member of Hunterdale Ruritan Club for over 50 years and a member of Newsoms Baptist Church since 1952. A dedicated Blood Donor for most of his life, Kenny was honored by the American Red Cross in 2021 for donating more than 80 gallons of blood, saving countless lives. Kenny was most passionate about being outdoors , hunting and teaching multiple generations of children how to hunt and respect nature. He was a member of Newsoms Hunt Club since 1961. Kenny was a son of the late, Harvey Jacob Porter and Mary Helen Johnson Porter. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Faye Cutchins Porter, two sons , Kenneth Brian Porter(Megan) and Kevin Gene Porter(Melissa), five siblings, Harvey J. Porter Jr. (Carolyn), Donnie C. Porter (Linda), Barry T. Porter (Kay), Patsy P. Fowler (Bill) and Danny M. Porter(Ann), three grandchildren, Taylor Porter, Ella Porter and Kyle Porter and a host of nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday July 10 , 2024 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with Rev. Jim Hyatt and Pastor Tom Wallace officiating. A reception will follow the service at Franklin Christian Church. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to The American Red Cross, Newsoms Baptist Church, Franklin Christian Church or any favorite charity.
