Murfreesboro. － Funeral services for George Benny Pope, 67, who died of a heart attack Friday afternoon while visiting a store in Statesville, Va., will be held from the Buckhorn Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Warren F. Taylor, pastor of Murfreesboro Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. 

He was a member of Buckhorn Baptist Church and a farmer of the Buckhorn Community. He was the son of the late Bill and Liza Johnson Pope of Hertford County. 

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura Eve Pope of Como; one son, George Benny, Jr., of Como; six grandchildren; four brothers, Hailiey of Newsom, Johnnie of Branchville, Va., Nathan of Como and Harvey Pope of Murfreesboro.
