Mr. Pope established the first Little League baseball league in the Carrsville area in the mid-1950s. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Survived by his wife, Gladys C. Pope; two daughters, Velna Griffin of Suffolk and Jeane Brown of Franklin; two sons, E.T. Pope Jr. of Windsor and R.E. Cutchins Jr. of Carrsville; three brothers, Hinton Pope and James Pope of Carrsville and Marvin Pope of Franklin; nine grandchildren and sue great-grandchildren. Family will be at the residence.
