FRANKLIN, Sept. 28 Malchus Maynard Pond, 77, farmer of the Sedley community, died at his home Friday night. He was a member of the Black Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Otelia Raiford Pond, Sedley; two brothers, George Pond of Zuni, and Norfleet Pond of Richmond: two sisters, Mrs. Myra Bradshaw, Franklin and Mrs. Ida Lowe of Sedley; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The body was taken to the W. J. M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home in Franklin, where on Sunday at 2:30 p. m., funeral services will be conducted by the Rev Len B. Allen, pastor of the Black Creek Baptist Church, and the Rev Ira D Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
