Terry Polliard Obituary Terry Edwin Polliard, 79, of Chesapeake, Va. passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, and went to be with his Savior. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Geneivie Felicia Polliard and son, James Polliard. Terry served his country well during the Vietnam Era. As Military Police, he faithfully guarded Martin Luther King, Jr. After his military service, Terry, attended University of Penn State. After he graduated his started working for Newport News Shipbuilding as a designer. He loved his job and worked in local shipyards from 1967 until his retirement in 2022. He also enjoyed old cars and spending time with his family, including his four-legged family, Rufus. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Sylvia L. Polliard; children, Thomas (Olivia) Polliard, Shawn Polliard, and Rachel Polliard; grandchildren, Ashley, Mason, Lilli, Nancy, John, Aubrey, Ava, and Aidan; grand dog, Rufus; sister-in-law, Margie Lowe and brother-in-law, Richard Lowe; and numerous other family and friends. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 19, 2022, at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milner's Rd. Suffolk, Va.
