William Pittman Obituary William Thomas Pittman, Jr October 8, 1930 - October 15, 2012 COURTLAND - William Thomas Pittman, Jr., 82, died October 15, 2012 in Southampton Memorial Hospital. The son of the late William Thomas and Ruth Wood Pittman, Tommy was also predeceased by five sisters and his first wife Frances Gillette Pittman. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara Layton Pittman, and his sons: Hugh Gillette Pittman, William Thomas "Bill" Pittman, Bernard Wilmer Pittman and John Francis Pittman, all of Courtland; his eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, as well as a gracious host to all who visited his Promise Land farm, Mr. Pittman found his greatest pleasure spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church, the Manry Hunt Club and the Sebrell Civic Club. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Courtland United Methodist Church by the Rev. Brandon Robbins. The burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
