Gyendelyn Overby Obituary Gyendelyn P. Overby February 11, 1944 － March 29, 2014 Gyendelyn "Gwen" Pope Overby, 70, entered the church triumphant March 29, 2014 while surrounded by family at the home. She was a daughter of the late Willie G. and Jessie Cutchins Pope and was predeceased by her sisters, Virginia P. King and Elizabeth P. Fowler, and her brothers, Linwood L. "Cat" Pope and Harvey G. Pope. Gwen was partner with her son Justin at Justin‚Äôs Lawn and Landscaping and was a former 15 year employee of Manry-Rawls Insurance Company. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 37 years, Dennis W. Overby; her daughter, C. Renee Edwards and her husband, Paul E. Jones, Jr. ; her sons, Michael E. Edwards and his wife, Robin, and C. Justin Overby and his girlfriend, Stacy A. Brinkley; her sister, Barbara P. Burgess and her husband, Wayne; her brothers, James F. Pope, Sr. and his wife, Audrey, and William E. Pope and his wife, Mary Jo, and her grandchildren, Ryan D. Vann, Mandi E. Edwards and M. Colby Edwards. The funeral will be held at 7 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3488 Godwin Blvd, Suffolk, VA with the Rev. Dr. Ruffin Alphin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at church and other times at the residence. Interment will be at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11 AM.
