Son of the late Bessie and Herman Outlaw, he was predeceased by his daughter Vicki Outlaw. 

He was a member of Berea Christian Church and formally the Ruritans. Ervan was a lifelong farmer. He also worked for Upton Farms and Kirk Lumber Co. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Ann G. Outlaw; daughter Susan Bauswell and husband Mike of Suffolk; son Mark Outlaw and wife Tracy of Greenville, WI; special daughter Patty Outlaw of Portsmouth; grandchildren Adam Outlaw and wife Courtney, Victor Outlaw and wife Megan, Chase Bauswell and Whitney Bauswell; great grandson Hudson Outlaw; sister Mildred Wright and husband Alton; and many nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held at 2 p. m. on Friday, December 6, at Berea Christian Church, 4109 Driver Lane, Suffolk, VA 23435 by Pastor Joe Newman. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, December 5, from 6 to 7:30 p. m. in Baker-Foster Funeral Home Bennett's Creek Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, VA.
