Marie was a loving mother, grandmother, and was always full of energy. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and retired from Rice’s Nachman’s Department Store after many years as a buyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, D. Alfred Turner, Sr.; her parents, John and Ruth Norton; and a sister, Virginia Roberts. Survivors include her children, Carolyn and her husband Warren Ayscue of Culpeper, and Darious A. Turner, Jr. of Poquoson; a brother, O’Quinn G. Norton of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Jacqueline N. and her husband Ray Barnes of Newport News; grandchildren, Kenny, Craig, and Lori Ayscue, Carrie Jessup, and Darious A. Turner, III; great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Cameron, Tyler, and Alex Ayscue, T.J. and Erica Overhulser, Jimmy and Ryan Jessup, and Aiden and Dominick Turner; one great-great-grandchild, Hunter Frazier; and many nieces and nephews.
