Myrick Funeral services for Herbert H. Myrick, 75, retired prominent Portsmouth hardware dealer for approximately 30 years, who died at a local hospital Wednesday after a long illness, were conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Richardson and Foster Funeral Home by Rev. H. H. Hughes, Pastor of Monumental Methodist Church. Interment was in Olive Branch Cemetery, with funeral directors assistants as pallbearers. The deceased, a native of Southampton County, was engaged in the hardware business at Effingham and County streets before his retirement. He was the husband of Mrs. Winifred LeCato Myrick and resided at 913 Leckie street. He held membership in Monumental Methodist church and Atlantic Lodge No. 24, Knights of Pythias. He had lived in Portsmouth about 40 vears. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Mrs.Harry Barrick, of Southampton County; a brother, Jack Myrick, of Boykins, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late William and Mrs. Charlotte Myrick.
