Donna Morin Obituary Donna Dale Morin June 6, 1941 - July 6, 2023 Boykins - Donna Dale Campbell Morin was born on June 6, 1941. She spent her childhood on Nassau Lake, New York, and loved to swim the length of the lake and back. She shared her childhood with her two brothers, Doug and Paul. One of her passions was dancing and she excelled at it during her teenage years. At age 15 she met a blonde-headed young man named Jim at the movies and accepted a ride home from him. She would marry him about six months later at age 16. At 17 1/2 she gave birth to the first of her four children, James Jr., followed a year later by the birth of her daughter, Paula, and one year after that by the birth of her son, "Baby Joe. " She developed a close relationship with her mother-in-law, Lila, who was a long-time servant of Jehovah and who encouraged Donna to study the Bible and establish a good relationship with her heavenly Father. She was baptized as one of Jehovah s Witnesses on September 28, 1963. In 1967 she gave birth to her last child, a daughter, Lisa. She was a loving wife and mother who worked hard to raise her family and provide an upbringing for her children which was later described as a "Disneyland childhood" by her oldest son. She could be found most evenings reading books and poetry aloud with her children surrounding her. Her kind heart always moved her to help any creature in need, and she successfully raised baby birds, always found a spot for a baby kitten--and even aided rabbits and one unsuspecting rat! She tended to the garden in the summer, and she never tired of smelling the French Lilacs that she grew close to the back door of the family home of 20 plus years. In 1983 her beloved daughter-in-law, Conchita, gave birth to her grandchild, Kimberly, and Donna was delighted to become a grandmother at the young age of 41. In addition to her four biological children, she had many spiritual children, and she was always ready to lend an ear and some sound scriptural advice or encouragement to those in need. She remained a loyal servant of Jehovah for almost 60 years, unwavering in her love and devotion. She enjoyed serving Jehovah along with Jim in four congregations over many decades: East Greenbush, New York; Rensselaer, New York; Rich Square, North Carolina; and Ahoskie, North Carolina. Over the years, Donna and Jim grew old together serving Jehovah, celebrating 66 years of marriage, and watching children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. She will be awakened in the resurrection immediately concerned for all her loved ones whether they are biological family or spiritual family. May we all be there to welcome her back and greet her lovingly.
