Judith Mills Obituary

PORTSMOUTH - Judith Anne Mills, 83, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023, in her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family. 

Judy was born on June 19, 1940, in Washington, DC to the late Carroll and Ruth Davies and was the youngest of three children. An incredibly hard worker, Judy retired from the United States Coast Guard Finance Center after 42 years of federal service. She had a passion for animals, especially her cats, and was just as devoted to them as they were to her. 

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Joan and her brother, Robert. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Janelle Mills, husband Lee Hoggard and grandson Phillip ("LJ") Hoggard, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA. LJ was her little buddy right from the start and they remained inseparable until her passing. She leaves behind two beloved cats, Martin and Katie and two beloved grandcats, Pete and Sasha. 

Judy's strength, warmth, generosity, compassion, and sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace. A memorial service will be held at R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, 23435 on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 6:30pm.
