He was the son of the late Johnny Dodson McKinney and Victoria Lynch McKinney. Tex was also predeceased by two sisters, Mary Jane Murray and Nancy Traylor. Tex was a retired Lieutenant for the Department of Corrections. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Fancher-McKinney; his step-daughter, Veronica Democko; his sister, Peggy Moss; three brothers, Glenn McKinney, John Wayne McKinney and Willie McKinney; and two grandsons, Isaac Bueno and Andrew Bueno.
