TALLMADGE - Harold E. Mayfield, 55, died Friday [11 June 1982]. 

Mr. Mayfield was born in Hanceville, Ala., and has lived in Akron the past 43 years. He served in World War II in the Navy and for 27 years was an Akron Fireman retiring in 1978. Mr. Mayfield was member of Carl Main V.F.W. Post 1070. 

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters, Laura Young, of Toledo, Cheryl Derrig, of Tallmadge; son, Larry, of Ukiah, Calif.; sisters, Mildred McKay, of Toccoa, Ga., Kate Thomas, of Warrior, Ala., Margaret Reid, of Birmingham, Ala., Gladys Lucas, of Akron; brother, Carl, of Springfield, Va.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation 4 to 9 p.m. SUNDAY [13 June 1982] at the funeral home, where funeral services will be held Monday 11 a.m. followed by cremation. Family suggests memorials to your favorite charity.
