Born in Dillon, SC and raised in Portsmouth and Virginia Beach, she was a daughter of the late Robert Edward King and Lucille Rogers King. She was also predeceased by her husband, Dale Edward Marlin, and a sister, Sherry. Helen was a 1962 graduate of Princess Anne High School and received an Associated Degree from Paul D. Camp Community College. She was a secretary for the Great Dismal Swamp Nation Wildlife Refuge with the Dept. of Interior in Suffolk for 22 years and a realtor. Helen was a member of Rock Church of Franklin. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Dawn Marlin Worrell and Dianna Marlin Whitehurst (Buddy); a son, Dale Edward Marlin II (Sherre); a sister, Kay King of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Randy Worrell, Lindsey Worrell, Colby Johnson (Chris), Hunter Eggleston, and Mackenzie Marlin; and great grandchildren, Parker Speight, Layla Hoyt and Bodie Hoyt. A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Monday, February 19, 2024 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor David Dillon officiating. Burial will be at 11AM Monday, February 26, 2024 in Albert G.
