Born in Southampton County, Va., Mr. Mountcastle came here 16 years ago from Portsmouth, Va. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, here. 

Survivors include Wilma, and a daughter, Sandra, both here; two sons, S.Sgt. Louis L., at McClellan AFB, Calif., and Specialist 2.C. Franklin H., Fort Sill, Okla., two sisters, Mrs. F. C. Maner, here, and Mrs. H. C. Verhellst, Moline, Ill.
