Marion Barkley Luper ENFIELD － Marion Barkley Luper, 93, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. She was born in Enfield. NC on December 10, 1917 to the late Clifton Barkley and Pearl Braswell. Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Richard Edward Luper; brothers Ferdie Barkley of Enfield, and Victor Barkley of San Antonio, TX, and son-in-law Al Dunbar, Jr of Rocky Mount. Marion was an excellent homemaker and devoted mother of six children. She loved to travel and was an avid reader enjoying biographies, non-fiction, and her Bible. She is survived by her daughters: Janet Gurganus and husband Ed of Rocky Mount, Carol Barnhill and husband Mike of Rocky Mount, Norma Stockhowe and husband George of Chesapeake, VA, Donna Collins and husband Mark of Chesterfield, VA; sons: Steven Luper and wife Eva of Sharpsburg, and Roger Luper and wife Patricia of Rocky Mount; sisters: Gwendolyn Wilson of Wilson and Vera Felton of Kinston; sister-in-law: Maebelle Barkley of Rocky Mount, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Living Faith Fellowship Church on West Mount Drive followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m with Rev. Richard Gurganus and Rev. David Hughes officiating. Burial will be at Pineview Cemetery.
