She was a native of Nansemond County and a member of Bethlehem Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clayton H. Pope of Suffolk; six sons, J. Junior Carr, William R. Carr, and Jim Stanley Carr, all of Suffolk, Miles N. Carr, Shirley Lee Carr, and Douglas R. Carr, all of Portsmouth; a brother, William S. Luke of Suffolk; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Irene Mays of Windsor; two stepsons, John E. Carr. and James S. Carr, both of Suffolk: 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 20 stepgrandchildren and 44 stepgreat-grandchildren. A funeral will be condueted at 2 p.m. today in 1.0. Hill & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Ronald L. Holley and Dr. R.E. Brittle. Burial will be in the Luke Family Cemetery, Joshua Lane. The family will receive friends at the home of William R.
