Michael Liptrap Obituary Michael Wayne Liptrap, 40, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at his Suffolk home, surrounded by his loving family and friends and beloved pets, Roxy, Chase, Holly, and Ally. He was born on May 13, 1982 in Bath County, VA. He fought a long and hard battle with cancer, always having courage every step of the way. He had a smile on his face for the many doctors, nurses, and caregivers, who were impressed by his resilience and faith and his determination was always for the benefit and love of his wife. Michael is survived by his wife, Missy and children, Matthew (Ashlyn) and Morgan (Felix) and his parents, David and Connie Liptrap; sister, Wendy and niece, Emma along with many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by grandparents and several aunts and uncles, whom he had a loving relationship. Michael and Missy owned MWL Transportation and Vital Drayage, a company they started shortly after their Vegas wedding, which was full of love, laughter, and excitement. Trucking was his passion as he could see the country and sharing that with Missy was a special part of both their lives. He enjoyed the many drivers and employees that called him friend and the special friends he made along the road. His fondest trip brought him to Missy. Michael and Missy also enjoyed the many trips to their favorite places in the mountains, a quiet weekend getaway to log cabins, NASCAR races, a weekend at the beach or travels to baseball games, including World Series three times. They both enjoyed watching Matthew and Morgan grow into young adults. They had a special love that included sports, travel, family and friends, pets, and special occasions and "it all started with a Harmony Load.
