A lifelong resident of Boykins, he was a son of the late William Anderson and Lula Mae Smith Lee. He was predeceased by his wife, Louise Brock Lee, and his son, William David Lee. Mr. Lee was a US Navy veteran of World War II, past Boykins Town Councilman, past president of Meherrin Valley Hunt Club and member of Boykins Baptist Church. Survivors include his sister, Callie Virginia Long of Severn, NC; his grandson, William David "Will" Lee, Jr and his wife, Mindy; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Lee and Emma Lee, all of Courtland and his lifelong friend, Charles Hood, of Boykins. The graveside funeral will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins with the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating.
