Darren Lee Laxton, 58, of Elizabeth City, NC. passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022. He is preceded in death by his father, John Fredrick Laxton; maternal grandparents, Thelma and Ferris Smith; paternal grandmother, Mabel Linda Laxton; sister in law, Lorraine Laxton; nephew, John Reid Laxton; a special aunt, Sharon Allen, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Darren was a friend to everyone he met. He loved music and the Beetles were his favorite band. He was always up for anything and had a sense of humor like no one else. 

He is survived by his mother, Virginia "Ginny" Laxton-Ligon; step father, Jim Ligon brothers, John Laxton (Janet) and Kenny Laxton; a niece and his little princess, Winter Laxton; special friend; Cynthia Collins and numerous other loving family and friends. The family extends special thanks to those who provided care for Darren. 

A service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, North Suffolk Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, Va. Family will receive friends an hour prior to his service. Burial will take place at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
