LANGSTON LILLINGTON - James Marvin Langston, 76, died in the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville Tuesday [14 April 1964]. He was a retired farmer, and was a native of Lenoir County. He had resided in Harnett County since 1935. He was an honorary deacon of the Union Methodist Church and a former teacher of the Adult Sunday School Class. He was a life member of the Lillington Masonic Lodge No. 302, AF and AM, where he had served as chaplain, and was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Wilmington and Dunn. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Ernest Simmons Post, VFW. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Effie Lee Rackley Langston; one daughter, Mrs. Benjamin F. Coleman of Burlington; three sons, J. M. Langston Jr. of Hyattsville, Md., George C. Langston of Rt. 3, Lillington, and Walter E. Langston of Eau Gallie, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Sherman Odham of Rt. 1, Grifton; and 13 grandchildren.
