Joseph S. Lange, 74, a retired electrical engineer, died yesterday, 21 December 1981, at Paul Kimball Hospital, Lakewood.  

Mr. Lange, 74, was born in Philadelphia and lived in Havertown, Pennsylvania, for 30 years and in Pleasant Valley, Pennsylvania, for 15 years before moving to Leisure Village West four years ago.  

Mr. Lange retired in 1972.  

He was a member of the United Engineers and Construction Workers, Philadelphia, for 35 years.  

Mr. Lange was a former trustee of Leisure Village West and a member of the Leisure Village West Kiwanis and Square clubs. He was a member, a past master, and grand representative of Union Lodge 121, F&AM, Havertown. Mr. Lange was a member of Shriner's Lulu Temple, Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.  

He was a vestryman at St. Faith Church, Havertown.  

Surviving are his wife, the former Ethel Mary Wright; two daughters, Ethel Graham of Laurel, Maryland, and Joanne Hawkins of Richmond, Virginia; and seven grandchildren.  

The Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements.
