William Jones Obituary William Elisha Jones, Sr. November 3, 1924 - August 2, 2014 Sedley- William Elisha "Bill" Jones, Sr., 89, passed away August 2, 2014 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mr. Jones was born in Nansemond County November 3, 1924, a son of the late Dewey and Claudine Jones. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and had retired from the city of Franklin with over thirty years of service. He was Baptist and a former Fire Chief of the Sedley Volunteer Fire Department. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a daughter Lynne J. Kea and three sisters, Thelma Atkins, Jackie Branch and Jean Albertson. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, Elna Forrest Jones, two daughters Venita J. Hewitt (John) of Sedley and Lou Anne Davis (Jeff) of Courtland, one son William E. (Billy) Jones, Jr., a son in law Buddy Kea of Ivor, three sisters LaRue J. Brittle (Sidney) of Sedley , Molly J. Fowler (Steve) of Suffolk and Joni J. Joyner (Gene) of Dendron, three brothers Dewey Jones, Jr. (Gayle) of Trinidad, CO, Vernon Jones (Sue Ann) and Frank Jones all of Suffolk, five grandchildren Trey Kea (Tara), Jay Hewitt (Danielle), Dan Kea (Brad), Elizabeth Railey and Sonny Davis and four great grandchildren Peyton Kea, Sophia Hewitt, Forrest Kea and Jackson Railey. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. Rita Kanten officiating.
