Susanne N. Johnson

Chesapeake - Susanne Nelson Johnson, 63, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2015 in her home surrounded by her family. 

Mrs. Johnson, a native of Richmond, Va., was the daughter of Isabella R. Nelson and the late Joseph E. Nelson. She was formerly a secretary for the General Electric Company and had also worked at Zino's Caf in Chesapeake. She was a longtime member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. 

Besides her mother, survivors include her husband of 41 years, David Johnson, Sr. ; son, David Johnson, Jr. and wife Ashley; granddaughter, Lillie Susanne Johnson; and brother, John E. Nelson. 

Friends may join the family Thursday from 6 to 8 p. m. at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a. m. Friday, August 28, 2015 in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 34 Afton Parkway, Cradock. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Capital Campaign Fund of Holy Angels Catholic Church, c/o 3501 Cedar Lane, Portsmouth, VA. 23703.
