Louise Johnson Obituary Louise Parker Johnson May 19, 1926 - September 18, 2023 Franklin - Louise Vann Parker Johnson, 97, passed away September 18, 2023, in Commonwealth Memory Care at Chesapeake. Former resident of Handsom, Sedley and the Outer Banks, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Allen Parker and Lillian Vann Hughes. She was also predeceased by her husbands Edward Lee Johnson, Boyd Barrett and E.T. Johnson, Jr., a brother, Lewis Allen Parker, Jr. and a grandson, Ira Thomas Hudgins. Louise was a retired Postmaster from Sedley Post Office with over 20 years of service. After the death of her loving husband, Louise moved to their second home on the Outer Banks of NC. Louise loved reading her entire life. She would go to the local secondhand store to purchase 5 novels at a time, read them, then take them back and purchase 5 more. She was known to read a good book more than once if she did not have a new one to read. She was a great cook, loved her morning coffee after raising her blinds for the morning sun, and watch beach people walk by with their dogs, or riding their bikes. She loved when she traveled, but mostly enjoyed a quiet, simple lifestyle at the beach. To all that knew her, Louise was a kind, soft spoken, and a tremendously giving person. She loved her family and enjoyed each visit. Left to cherish her memory is three daughters, Debbie J. Hartert (Rick) of Jacksonville, FL, Chris Hudgins of Richmond, VA, and Patti J. Hawkins (Billy) of Germantown, TN; a son, Steve Johnson (Betty) of Courtland, VA; seven grandchildren, Meghan White (Doug), Mandy Harding (Jeff), Lindsey McGee (Dee), Christopher Hawkins (Kimberly), Ashley Hartert, Courtney Gumbinger (Matt); and Zachary Hudgins (Lexie); and 12 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin. Burial will follow in Mount Horeb Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
