He came to Clearwater in 1969 from Indiana and moved in 1980 from Clearwater to Pinehurst. He was the former owner and president of National Liquor Corp. in Indianapolis. He was an acclaimed golfer in both Florida and Indiana. Among his golfing distinctions, he was a state senior champion in Indiana, a Midwestern Senior Champion, recipient of the Clifford Wagner Award in Indiana, and a member of three U.S. Senior Golf Association international teams. He was president of Highland Golf & Country Club in Indianapolis and chairman of the U.S. Steel American Cancer Tournament in Clearwater. He was a Mason and a Shriner.
