Shirley Wellons Jackson, age 73, a native of Southampton County, died Sunday, August 8, 1982, in Arlington Hospital. She was a member of the Sedley Baptist Church. 

She is survived by one son, Phil Jackson of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia W. Jennings of Waverly and Mrs. Ruby W. Simpson of Del Mar, Calif.; two brothers, Levi Thomas Wellons of Deale, Md. and John Frank Wellons of Col lege Park, Md.; two grandchildren. 

Funeral arrangements incomplete. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, in charge of arrangements.
