Beale Is Dead at 65 FRANKLIN - John Etheldred Beale, Sr., 65, a well-known resident and businessman of Franklin, died early today at Raiford Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Franklin Baptist Church by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor, and the Rev. Carl Lee Ousley, pastor of Holland Baptist Church. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The body will be taken from the W. J. M. Holland Funeral Home to the church Thursday at noon. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, the Men's Bruner Bible Class of the church, and the Knights of Pythian and Woodmen of the World Lodges in Franklin. He was the husband of Mrs. Martha McLane Beale of the home and son of the late James (Boge) Beale and Mary Wills Beale of Southampton County. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, John E. Beale, Jr., Lloyd McLane Beale, and James Robert Beale, all of Franklin; a daughter, Mrs. Wallace Harrison of Franklin; a brother, Willard Beale of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs. J. C. Brestow of Norfolk, Mrs. Paul Rose of Franklin, and Mrs. W. T. Powell of Lawrenceville, and several nieces and nephews.
