Linwood H. Howell  

COURTLAND - Linwood Henry Howell, 68, died Thursday morning 24 Jan 1963 in Raiford Memorial Hospital, Franklin, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Daisy English Howell and a son of William Henry Thomas and Mrs. Christianna Carr Howell of Isle of Wight County.  

He was a lifelong resident of the Courtland community and a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church. Besides his widow, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. B. T. Barnes of Courtland and Mrs. John G. Britt of Franklin; four sons, Ray T. Howell of Chuckatuck, Alfred Howell of Courtland, J. E. Howell of Bristol, and James D. Howell of Key West, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Drewry of Walters and Mrs. Lethia English of Portsmouth; three brothers, P. G. Howell of Chuckatuck, Clayton Howell of Henderson, N.C., and Norman Howell of Walters; and 14 grandchildren.  

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. 26 Jan 1963 in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. H. W. Tribble of Hunterdale Christian Church. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery, Walters.
