Rites Tomorrow For Jodie Howell 

Funeral services for Jodie Robert Howell will be conducted Wednesday at 11 
a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem 
Christian Church.  Burial will be in the family cemetery near Holland. 

Mr. Howell, 65, of 117 Morgan St., died Monday at 7:20 p.m. at the Lane 
Nursing Home after a long illness. 

A son of Dempsey and Annie Holland Howell, he was a native of Nansemond 
County and was a member of the Bethlehem Christian Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Holland Howell; a daughter, Mrs. 
Paul H. Johnson, and a son, Robert E. Howell, all of Suffolk; four sisters, 
Mrs. W.T. Alford of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Mrs. Sue Brinkley of Franklin; Mrs. 
T.B. Owen of Richmond, and Mrs. J.L. Adams of Holland; a brother, J.W. Howell 
of Holland; three grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
