Mr Howell had returned from Suffolk where he went earlier in the day to deliver a load of hogs having been in the store about 10 minutes when he was stricken. He is the son of Mrs Geneva Holland Howell of Franklin and the late William Fletcher Howell and member of the Franklin Baptist Church. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs Emily Vaughan Howell; two daughters, Jean and Phyllis Ann Howell; and one son James Howell of Franklin; two brothers, H W Howell and Dewey Howell of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs C R Waters of Portsmouth, Mrs W M Bradshaw and Mrs R C Council of Franklin.
