Franklin, 26 November 1945 - Mrs. Ida Holland Carr, 76, of the Walters community, died this morning at her home after an illness for several months.

She was the daughter of the late Elijah and Emmaline Hedgepeth Holland, of Nansemond County. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church. She is survived by her husband, Junius W. Carr, of Walters; two sons, Aldie L. Carr, of Portsmouth, and Will W. Carr, of Walters; three grandchildren, one brother, Rommie Holland, of Suffolk; eight sisters, Mrs. R. H. Joyner, Mrs. Mary E. Carr and Mrs. Emma C. Hines, of Walters; Mrs. J. T. Carr, of Portsmouth; Mrs. J. R. Cox, of Suffolk; Mrs. Jesse Copeland, Mrs. Vernon Butler, of Buckhorn; Mrs. Al Jernigan, of Chuckatuck, and Mrs. C. C. Carr, of Holland; her stepmother, Mrs. Sallie Holland, of Holland.

Funeral services will be held from Mt. Carmel Christian Church Tuesday 28 November 1945 at 1 p.m., conducted by the pastor, the Rev. T. Fred Wright. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
